Silly Stick Balance

Pops

New User
I have completed building the Silly Stick electric plane - I had it balanced per instructions using the wing with no ailerons. I then built up another wing with ailerons, all of which works fine. But when I check the CG now it is way back - like an inch or more behind the prescribed spot. Should I add weight to the nose to bring it back where it should be? The aileron servos are located just behind the spar holder as shown in pics I was given. These are the same tiny servos that come with the kit.

Thanks! - Pops

If you can, just slide the wing to adjust the CG. Otherwise, yes, add some weights to get the correct CG.

Also, don't recall if we updated the instructions with details to power this with 3S setup? Change the prop to a 6x3 and you will have a plane with a good bit more power.

Wayne - thanks for the info! Everything is as far forward as it can go - or near enough that I will go with some weight.

Thanks for the info on 3S and more prop as well. I don't see any mention of that in the build instructions.

YES! Of course - my thinking was backward on this till I saw your post. I did adjust the wing back and the plane is now properly balanced with no weight added.

Thanks again for your help, Wayne - as the saying goes - "I was WAY off!"
