@Hawaii Sloper wanted something with a real lid not the iron on so here is my first design with a hinge:

After sacrificing a number of planes to my cross country move, I decided to build a revised Viggen based on the Flight Test design. This as a KF2 airfoil, a 70mm 6S EDF, and a rudder vain in the EDF flow for yaw control. I hope to maiden it on Sunday.

You guys might want to build some Footy class sailboats. The most successful design I campaigned had a hull made from uncoated pink foam. The hull fit in the measurement box corner to corner allowing a 13.4" waterline. It had a 2.5" beam, was pointed on both ends with the maximum width about 60% from the bow. 36" high aspect ratio square head swing rig. The keel was two pieces of 1-1/2" wide Formica epoxied around a carbon tube to form a foil. Same for the rudder but use balsa or ply instead of laminate.

Total cost minus electronics was under $25. If a hull doesn't work out tear out the keel and electronics and try another shape.

Finally got my micro Sagitta covered and painted. The covering is Doc u lam I had laying around. I still need to install the brick. But I’m hoping for a test flight on Sunday at kite hill.

The paint is on the out side. I had a little paint come off when taking the making off. I’ve done the inside. That works well too but I think it required a bit more planning ahead.

Hey, those are my boat motors! I was wondering where they went.

Check out this classic 1980's beauty! The motors were in it for this picture. She now has one motor and is much faster thanks to Jarron.

Yes Jarron has infected me with some love of RC boats now. Don't worry, nothing too serious. We have some fun ponds very close to the shop. We are probably going to be building up some sailboats to play with in the Petaluma River (at the turnaround). These little guys:

Very nice. I started printing a mold so I can make a carbon keel. I am not a huge fan of the 3d printed solution.

Been diving into Gridfinity organization bins. Not going to go super crazy, but at least try and get some bins for groups of tools. Right now i have.... stations around my shop. Areas where i have harbor freight magnetic tool holders. So everything was kind of everywhere. Found a couple cheap little drawer units on wayfair and started putting tools by group in each drawer. Funny how much a few simple cleanup / organizing tasks really make you feel better about your work area. One thing @Hawaii Sloper and i have discussed is how a clean shop is like a clean mind. When my shop is a mess i don'tri feel like working on anything, but as soon as everything is put away and there is space on my table all of the sudden i have all these ideas of things i want to do.

Green ruler in the picture is a gridfinity ruler. Gridfinity is a grid system made up of 42mm squares and than a Z height you can choose for bins. So for instance the Screwdriver bins are 2x5 gridfinity squares. Im not using it, but there is a base grid system you can screw down that everything mates into.

Also figured out how to tell Bambu to do height based color changes. Nice and quick labels for drawers in about 24 minutes.

Yeah, we seem to have three or four popular building areas here at Aloft. We are slowly getting them organized and buying extra common tools for each site. one of these days I hope to have a nice dedicated building space. Right now it is all shared with other uses. Oh yeah, and all of the builders here are pretty messy in their own ways, but we do try to clean up at the end of each session.
