On my foamies i like to do a 3 layer iron on film "lid". I capture a small part of piano wire/rod in the layers, glue in some magnets and you have a lid.
I have just been using a dremmel with a depth attachment to hollow out the foam. I decided to make up a quick 3d print that could hold the radio, short servo connector for on/off, and some 3.5mm magnets.

Magnets are about 0.5mm proud
Only takes about 20 minutes to print on a p1s on lower resolutions.

the important part is that when you glue in the magnet, make sure the lid with metal is on it. That way it glues in at whatever angle it wants to have a solid connection. Just put a sacrificial piece of plastic in-between the two while setting the glue up. 3 layers of 5mil iron on is surprisingly rigid.

Hi Ladies and Gents - I do like an old-style KeilKraft style build. So, I decided to make a Vulcan Bomber glider using an ancient Skyleada plan for a 24in span model, originally designed for a Jetex 100. OK, so I filled in the spaces between the stingers with 3/32in soft balsa. I also skinned the wings with 1/32in balsa sheet and it's now got elevons and rudder plus a catapult hook for those days with no wind. The photo shows my positioning it up for gluing wings and fuselage together, but nothing effectively scratch built ever fits together first, second or even third time, right?

@Yotaman1985 was asking me about sites up here and i was telling him about how i want to go check out the Hull mountain glider launch area. Found some more recent videos that show the site a lot better. About 2hr drive north (from my house in lakeport) on dirt roads but it does have an active weather station so thats nice. And dispersed camping everywhere.

Heck yeah!! When we going? That looks epic! Only 3 hours from my house and camping. winner winner chicken dinner!

Now for a silly thing...
A guy is flying his RC glider on the beach when a seagull flies right past it. His friend says, “Dude, that seagull just out-flew your glider!”
He replies, “Yeah, but my glider doesn’t poop on people’s sandwiches.”
His friend thinks for a moment and says, “That’s true… your glider just crashes into them instead!”

Well my Seagull glider does......

Hey, those are my boat motors! I was wondering where they went.

Check out this classic 1980's beauty! The motors were in it for this picture. She now has one motor and is much faster thanks to Jarron.

Yes Jarron has infected me with some love of RC boats now. Don't worry, nothing too serious. We have some fun ponds very close to the shop. We are probably going to be building up some sailboats to play with in the Petaluma River (at the turnaround). These little guys:
