Curious if that spinner will whistle a little. :) How the heck did you drill the holes in the spinner?

> How the heck did you drill the holes in the spinner?

The holes were cut with an end mill, while the spinner was held in a custom fixture.
I am indebted to a machinist flying buddy for the idea, and for the execution of the work.

Interesting question.
And will the pitch change as the motor speed changes?
I'll mention my findings in the eventual flight report.

This might be my new favorite 3d print Ive done... I used carboard boxes for all my tools and parts when I went to Sunset last year and decided to upgrade to some 3d printed storage bins for this year. 😁

After finishing the Puddle Bug I decided to do another small build. I’ve had this Micro Sagitta kit for awhile and I put it together. I made new spars from 1/8” sheet (I don’t like notched spars and my thoughts on that can be found in the mini wanderer thread). It is a nice build. I will add carbon tow to the bottom of the wing, I will make a small up start.

Covering up next.

I've been working on and off on this quarter scale Decathlon... Going incredibly slowly but steadily. It will havea 40 cc twin engine. Will probably be maiden in Christmas... depends on how work moves. I travel a lot (too much for my taste...) so my bench time is extremely limited. Took me two years to reach this stage!

Safe flights to all!

@leowagen, is that from a kit or plans? Looks like a good build.

Hank
Is a short kit made by an Argentinian guy called Juan Pablo Canavese. You can find him on FB. I'm not sure if he ships abroad, but is worth to ask. He makes even bigger kits, for really big shot engines (100 cc and above). I very well done, quality wood, clean cuts and supplies all clear plastics, landing gear, wheel fairings and hardware for the wingstruts attachments.

With all of Wayne’s talk of Intercostals on his AH-100 thread I decided to add them to the Sagitta. No they aren’t at 45 degrees but the do help the wing twist. On the mini Wanderer when I use my up-start on a strong pull I see some flutter. So I added these, probably won’t need them but it won’t hurt.

We got fresh covering on a pair of old reliable RISER-100 wing, just in time for our first day of truly spring like weather.
One on a SigMfg kit wood fuselage, and one on a Topmodel PRELUDE fuselage.

The long shot shows why we don't generally need spoilers for landings in this field.
As long as we remember Dennis Phelan's observation, "Walking is part of soaring."
