Burned out my first servo setting up the radio. I was adjusting the settings on one flap not paying attention to the other and it must have been overextended. oh well. ordered a new one.
Didnt make any magic smoke but dang was it hot and stopped working.

Up in the Mt Lassen area this weekend. Got to fly at the Hat creek scenic overlook. Guessing 30mph.

Woohoo! She looks great!! Did you find anything bad during the rebuild? I know the rudder linkage was wonky, but the rest looked pretty sound. I imagine it had some stories to tell as the layers were peeled back. Got to be about the only survivor of the built ups! Well done.

I completely rebuilt the rudder. Setup. Did end up with the rudder locking over on landing, which resulted in a ding to the wing root. My fault.

I sanded the fuse down pretty far and replaced some glass.

Flew fine, I need to find my incidence meters to set up correctly. It required all of the up trim I had.

We have several new planes in the works, the photo Rafael posted up is actually being used on 2 of them, very different models despite the same wing.

Here is one I'm finishing off, this one is a 65" polyhedral:

With all the posts about old cars recently, I decided I wanted to join in the fun. Just picked up this 1964 Ford Falcon Futura last night. Its a good 20ft looker but is solid drives pretty well. Super excited to tinker with an old car again and take the family out cruising.

I like it, has good lines. Now go polish those wheels!

(As a kid, I polished the alloys on my brother's Camaro, that was a fun car with a built 427.)

Got it in the garage with some room to spare. Looks good next to our Model A and all my planes... haha

Looks darn good to me.

Model As always look like they are parked up with storage locking them in. But totally understandable.
Yea, its mostly just to make room for the Falcon currently but it needs some work to get driving again. Been sitting for a while since we couldnt fit the family in it and its slow for the roads around us. Maxes out at about 35-40mph and the speed limits as soon as you leave our neighborhood are 45-50mph...

Yeah - but they are pretty darn neat.

I think I could get away with driving one around here, but sure I'd piss off a few folks. There are a respectable number of cool cars running around in the area. Good car culture here. They close off the downtown a couple of times a year for Friday to Sunday for the vintage car show. Lots of cool stuff to check out.

I think having the Falcon is going to motivate me to get the Model A going again. It shouldnt need too much. I know it needs a battery, carb cleaning and fresh fuel but batteries are so expensive these days. Even the 6 volt it needs is around $150 bucks 🤦

Convert it to lithium. Seriously. Especially for vehicles that rarely get used, this makes a lot of sense. My tractor will be going lithium when the tired lead acid gives up the ghost. We have done the same with scooters here. Just make sure you have a good BMS.
