Got tired of waiting for the Ridge Runt and the table was clear so I started a little Blast from the Past

Um, that motor needs a gearbox if you're going to spin that 8x4.5 prop with it. Unless you're going to run it on 2s, that should be okay. I bet you'll be able to cut your all up weight down to at least 20 oz with modern R/C gear.

I pulled that out of another plane very similar to the Voyager. I flew it with a 3S battery. One of you jokers tossed a Dualsky XM2221 eg38 with a random esc attached in one of my orders, but I don't think it's enough power. I was planning on powering the plane with a 2S 18650 3000mah li-on. or a smaller 2S 14500

when its 27f out the shop isnt as much fun :)
but i have been working a little bit on the p38

Fortunately the top is flat so i could align it upside down on the concrete. Used a sharpie to trace where everything will connect so i can start burring servo cables in the foam before final assembly happens. I decided to put a 8mm servo in the middle of the Horizontal stabilizer. So i can now try and make that wire flush in the foam before fiber glassing. Hard to show size in pictures, its a big plane.

my version 2 of the homemade spot welder using a recycled microwave oven

Scavenged the high voltage transformer and mains relay from a broken microwave oven.
Replaced the transformer secondary with four turns copper wire ( multiple cable wires in parallel used ) .
Voltage at the secondary is 3.5 VAC ( no load ) , and 2.1VAC ( loaded ) Secondary current is 350 A ( loaded )
1200 W primary Power ( loaded )
Recycled a Lachmiller Engineering Super Jet , shot shell cartridge reloader, procured at a garage sale , as the mechanical structure.

What are you spot welding?

on the video, as a test , sheet metal from the slot covers taken from a PC tower case.
the real intention is for welding battery connections.
Very cool! Is it easy to adjust the power? I ask because I just started welding batteries and it def helps to finely adjust the output.
