3D printed replacement canopy for my "new / old" 1m DLG :

I've mountain biked there. Place is pretty awesome and recently refurbished. Good food and drink too, sometimes live music in the summer.
I've mountain biked skypark a bunch and also camped there. It's a really cool place!! Last time I was there I scoped out the glider port. It was kinda overgrown then but looks like they cleaned it up a bunch. You going Red?

Well, tried to save myself some time and ordered some custom cut boards from makerstock.com, which i have used a bunch of times in the past to order regular stock of ply and plexi. But whoever was at the circular saw that day must have been drunk.
First picture is one end of the boards, second picture is the other end of the boards.
One board is wider and the other board is thinner. Yikes.
1 - Large boards - with small.jpg1b - Large Boards - with small.jpg

These are the ends and sides of my DLG box. The end little pieces are perfect matches but the top and sides long pieces are not even parallel with themselves let alone match my specs. Talking with @Hawaii Sloper we are guessing that they are using a tracksaw and not a standard table saw.

They agreed to recut so will see what happend.

Nate - never tried but I did hear that some people use padded rifle cases for their models?

I have a sportube for international but it needs a lot of padding.

Just worried about the weight of your box.

Under is one I made to take 2 x control line planes to the UK. Light and worked well.

Cheers,

Doc.

Yeah i watched some videos on the stuff across the street. Looks like an awesome offroad bike park and other stuff to do. 10hr drive for me though.

I can't remember his name but there was an older guy at the Camp and Fly who had a Sprinter and some really nice planes. I think that he drives to Watsonville, Cape Blanco, and probably this place and others, spending a bit of his retirement like that. Pretty sweet way to spend some free time. I really want to check that spot out down south. I didn't even check what town that was near. I'll do a little research.
