Started working on a hard travel box for the Hawk 1 DLG. Will use some 1/4" Birch.

Dimensions are about 40.6" long, 7.8" high, 5.1" deep. Ill build it fully enclosed and use a table saw to cut the top off.
Than foam inside with custom holes to hold the parts.

1/4" is perfect for this use. We do the same here all the time. We burn through a lot of the 1/4" here at Aloft. Actually debated using it on walls at the new shop.

Still figuring out what the inside will be. Thinking some of my epp cutoffs.
Probably just poly the outside with several coats and do some sharpie art.

Don't forget you can laser etch/paint artwork too.

Never tried carving. Im pretty ok at copying freehand something i can see already done so i have been playing around with Midjourney AI to kick out something ultrawide for me to base some artwork on:

These pieces are too big for my laser. I would need to get a 4" lens to drop it down to my pass thru. Not sure what the DPI is on that, but i know its worse.
I could also build it up using vinyl.

OMG it was a friend request, but that section wasnt lit at all, i didnt see it until i clicked on that section.
