setup qxy for simulator

Bought a Holystone HS 550, crashed 1st and 2nd flight, no damage thankfully but now much wiser. Have researched and read and its obvious I need flight experience so I got the DroneSimPro simulator but can't get it to work with my Taranus QX7 controller running OpenTx 2.2.0. Have the flight skills withoutwatched all of the youtube vids but so far no help. I am very inexperienced, could someone provide a step by step for dummies, so that I may learn the flight skills to fly my drone, can't afford another. Sorry for the intrusion and lack of knowledge on my part, but this site seems much more willing to help than some of the others and seemingly more knowledgeable. I have the controller and the correct cord, so if someone could get down on my level, I would be eternally grateful. This has been a 6 month process and I'm no clos
er than when I started, and wife is close to leaving.

First thing to check is does the controller show up as game controller in windows.

Couple things to check if its not showing up based off some google searches :

PC: i7, 16GB RAM, 4GB graphics, Windows 10. I have Liftoff, DRL Simulator, and Velocidrone. I have a QX7S and have created a new model (Sim) Int and Ext RF is off. Trainer Mode is set to Master/Jack.

Open Device Manager

Search for "libusb-win32 devices"

Open it and search for "BETTER_USB_HS"

Right click on it, select Update Drivers

Choose "Browse my Computer for driver software"

Choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

Select " USB input device"

Thank you sir for your swift reply, I did not have the libusb-win32, downloaded it and my PC now sees my controller, which was probably the main problem. Someone also mentioned STC32 which I haven't yet begun to explore. I think however that I have been using a 3.0 usb port and QX7 uses 2.0 so that may be a conflict. I am very appreciative and envious of the people here and your willingness to help. Will keep you posted.

Yeah its super nice that most newer RC controllers show up as a gaming controller. Makes troubleshooting way easier and you could technically use your rc controller as a gaming controller in any windows program.
