Setting up flaps

I am setting up flaps using my x14 transmitter on a glider for the first time. I notice it gives the option of using one channel or two. Is there any advantage to either way? Also what is the best way to control flaps on a glider? Is the SA switch a good way? Thanks for any insight.

If you have a flap servo in each wing, then you need each driven by its own channel, otherwise you don't have any way of independently adjusting the endpoints.
I would also recommend checking out Mike Shellim's page for a lot of great information. He also has some templates that you can use for various glider types that are pretty well evolved.

Guy beat me to it, but I’ll add to his good advice and suggest that you download Mike’s sloper template and set your model up using that. Literally everybody in my locality uses Mike’s F3f and F3j/F5j OpenTx and Ethos templates.

Guaranteed success, and really quick to set up 👍.
