Sequence to update from 1.0.8

I have an x20s with firmware 1.0.8 and would like to update to the latest version. I have seen some info stating that I need to update first to older versions by downloading the .bin files before I can use the new updating system. Is this true and if so what version do I upgrade to first. If not true can I update to the newest version on Mac??

You will have to go thru two manual updates to get to the latest version.
1. From 1.08 go to version 1.2.0 this establishes a boot loader and the ability to use "Ethos Suite" to perform the updates for you.
2. Using Ethos suite don't go directly to the current latest version as you will brick the radio, but select V1.4.15. This gets you to now being able to use Ethos suite for any further update.

Longtime no see!

I have one of the few ALOFT Single Stick transmitters with the X10s Express internals. I have not updated my
radio since I assembled it. I have been disabled since May 2023 due to a compression fracture in the #2 vertebra
above the Pelvic. Now that I am able get up and around a bit, I hope to get back to working with my RC equip. Will
I be needing to do the same operations that you speak to about the X20s ?

How are things in Melbourne?

Is your X20S newer as these are coming with much later release firmware. Click on Sys ( the left hand control) and scroll to info, it will have the radio current firmware version.

We are fine in sunny Melbourne Australia, away from the rest of this currently crazy world.

Don't worry if you get the sequence wrong and the radio is bricked it's easily recoverable.

Since these come with firmware that was released much later, is your X20S newer? The radio's most recent firmware version can be found by clicking on Sys (the left-hand control) and then scrolling to info.
