RSSI Drop?

I fly competition glider, so, I can get a little far away hunting and following thermals. Now, the Taranis has been working great up to today, the only difference between the last time I used it and today is, I have done the speaker upgrade, now I am getting the RSSI low warning at 150 metres, it has not dropped below 41 on the meter.

I did notice that the speaker magnet is not far from the RF board inside the TX, could this be a cause of interference having the magnetic field from the speaker so close (2 mm) to the RF board? It will not be a problem putting the original speaker back in. Has anyone tried the Taranis without a speaker in the standard position? away from the RF board altogether.

Are you sure the antenna wires are still inplace? Not loose or disconnected?

Constant magnetic fields don’t effect RF reception and electronics. Ive used magnets to attach an Apprentice S15e receiver to different aircrafts without problems.

I will check the antenna soldered joints tonight, when I did the speaker change over, the RF board and antenna are in the rear half of the case which was moved to the side and were not touched, bumped or interfered with in any way.

It never hurts to check every time I have the case open, I was going to open the case up anyway to put a piece of foam on the back of the speaker just in case it comes adrift, last thing needed is a piece of metal rattling about against the electronics.

Yeah, may have just been a poor RF day at the field..? Can't think why the speaker mod would change anything.
