Royal Models DG-808 - Build Log

And the only reason I had that space available for that video is because my wife was out shopping 😆

Looks like I need about 1.2 kg in the nose to hit CG. So now that I know how much space I need for that, I made up a quick battery and electronics tray this morning. Still need to add some velcro for the batteries once the epoxy dries

Nate,

I like to use epoxy and lead shot poured into the nose to get the weight as far forward as possible.

Yes that is what i usually do as well. Ill do slightly less than max needed and work my way up to it after an initial large amount sets.
edit: i also want to add scale cockpit parts later so i want some amount of lead that is removable in the future

Can you add a bulkhead in the front part of the fuse, and just put loose lead shot into the cavity behind it i? Less permanent.

current thoughts, are to put less than i need into the front cavity as epoxy/lead as discussed before but sink some bolts into it sticking up that i can use as an anchor to tighten more weight down that is adjustable. Ill think about it.

Mount a frame in the nose that you have have studs sticking out of and shape steel plates to stack on them. Then you can add and remove weight as you please.
Just a thought...

Dry weight was 4.7kg
I modified the plans with a 50g servo in the tail instead the nose so that's a lot of weight way behind CG I had to make up for.

I added about 900g in the nose of dead weight. My life packs are super light so they didn't do much for cg.
