Removable mad stab

The design is elegant, well done. How do you maintain the tight fit between the pushrod and the pulley.

We can draw something up and print them for you if you like. @RafaelAvila should be able to get it going for you. You may need to share a link for him to see more detail of what you need.

Yes @Wayne i can help him for Sure! @slopecorn let me know if you need something, i just need some more information about what exactly you might want and i can design and print on our 3d farm.

Sorry to burst any bubbles but I found a way to make nice pulleys without the printer with shirt buttons. Thank you for the help/offers.

Pulleys are better than horns in this case because on this plane we are trying to achieve 180° or more total travel. Using horns you run into a lot of trouble doing that. For one thing, you may not even achieve 90° in both directions because your control rod will make contact with the surface of the wing before getting there. Another problem is that once you've achieved that 90°, you might notice the holding power on that control surface is less resulting in blowback.

Pull/pull makes for other problems especially with E.P.P and is functional but lacking consistency.

Anyway specs for pulleys in case someone wanted to Lazer or 3d them anyway -

Outer diameter (flanges): 1" 1mm thick
Inner diameter: U.S. Nickel 2mm thick
Square hole through the center 1/4"

@slopecorn if you need to go into production on your pulleys and run out of patience building them from buttons I have a couple of them machined from Delrin and Peek. Just pm me your address and I will get them to you. ;)

BTW, is that a picture of one of your 'older' builds? My son has been flying it off and on for a couple of years now...

Mark

Hi Mark,

Have you been able to test those pulleys in the field? What is driving them?

Nice work.

That is an older swiss fish I built. It should be easy to modify it with this system.
