Redundancy questions...

So I need to have redundancy in the receiver and in the power along with 12 channels. I have an horus x10s. I assume I need an RB-20. Check .. got that. Two batteries to plug the into it. Check got that. Now comes the part where I need help in understanding.

1) What two receivers do I use? Two Rx8r ? Two x8r? One of each?

2) suggestion was made to use R9m module and R9m receiver and then use either a Rx8r or x8r...

I am confused.. sigh. Too many permutations at this point for me. Can someone please tell me what works best with the least amount of complexity. Also how does the RB-20 decide which receiver of the two is to be used to send signal to servo ports?

Last it seems to show on the RB-20 instructions to use smart bus in or sbus in from the receiver(s). How do you decide?

I know there are multiple options but I am having a hard time figuring out how they all intertwine. Any insight would be appreciated... or maybe some place to read more. The instructions for each device just do not tell me enough to put this all together.
