R9 MX OTA Receiver setup

I am trying to setup redundant receivers in a sailplane to use with my x20. I have been using a single 2.4 mhz up until now. I purchased a R9 MX OTA mini receiver to act as the slave receiver. I want to connect it to an ACCESS 9 channel 2.4 receiver. The instructions that came with the R9 MX are not very helpful. I am not sure what pinouts on the R9 MX connect to which pins on the 9 channel master receiver. I am also not sure what changes need to be made within the X20 settings to get everything working properly. Does anyone know a good online resource that explains in detail how to do this setup? Thanks for your help.

George

You connect SBUS Out, Vin, and GND of the R9 to the SBUS In port of the 2.4 GHz receiver, and turn on both 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz in the X20. Pretty simple.

Maybe I was too optimistic. I hooked up the R9 to the 2.4 receiver SBUS In port, and the receiver was not recognized for registration. Therefore no bind.

Any ideas or things to check.

Thanks, George

I did press the button. That got the x20 to register the receiver. However, when I went to bind the receiver, it did not show up in the list of "Rx's" in the bind section. Only receiver "1" showed which is the 2.4 receiver. Scratching my head.

Thanks

Strange. Your 900 MHz board in the radio is obviously turned on, otherwise you would not have been able to register.

If it is registered then it is the order of when you power up, Tx in bind, apply power and the MX should show if I am remembering right. you have to cycle the power off after registering...

I finally got it working. I found a good video that took me through each step. Didn't seem any different than what I was already doing, but voila, it worked. So, obviously I was doing something wrong.

Thanks again.
