QX7 now reading very low RSSI with my Telemetry capable receivers.

Hello Wayne,
We have spoke via email about my QX7 now giving me very low RSSI numbers with different receivers. I have decided to send the Transmitter back to Aloft for service.

Would you like me to also send the receivers with it for a look-see of them also, New RX6R with XM+, a new RX8R pro, and a X6R that was used in an 88" electric model. The QX7 now shows RSSI going critical less than 42 right after take off.

An interesting note is that I still have total control of the various planes with the above receivers were in when in Range check mode, with a displayed RSSI of "0" . RSSI in range check mode reads " 0" at less than 30' but I still have total control of gas powered plane at over 300' with planes tether to the ground in range check mode.

Another annoying thing is with XM+ bound to memory 3 it will run the servos in memory 3 with the RX6R unbound to #3 memory . I can not get the servos to operate when I substitute the RX8Rpro for the RX6R receiver doing the same test, using the very same XM+.

PS: Do I need any special labeling of my radio for your attention?

Hey Ken,

Email to contact@alofthobbies.com is best for this sort of service request.

Yes, you can send the receivers along if you would like and we will test everything and make sure everything goes back in tip top shape. Just include a note with some notes about the issues and make sure we have your contact info. The service team will not be looking to the forum for this information. Nothing special is needed on the label, but you can put 'service department' if you like.

Please stop flying the radio. Best as I can tell, you got lucky as it sounds like the RSSI is very poor, you are at large risk of crashing if to continue to fly.

Did you rebind the RX8R-Pro when you switched over to it? It will need to be mound to that model to function. Each model memory has it's own number as an additional safety item. This prevents accidental motor power up should you have more than 1 plane powered on, they will only listen to the model that is active in the transmitter.

Hi Wayne,

Yes On rebind of RX8R-pro! Good news! I actually retested the RX8R-Pro with XM+ this morning before I sent everything to you this morning. By swamping the RX8R-Pro with RF, forcing it to go to failsafe the XM+ would keep working the servo I used for test. With RX6R using the same XM+, I could simply bind the RX6R to a diffrent memory then reconect the XM+ changing back to the correct origonal bound memory and the XM+ would then operate the servo threw the unbound powered up RX6R . I could not get the RX8R-pro and XM+ to operate doing the test as described with the RX6R even thow the green LED was solid on the XM+.

Yes,I fully understand the Receiver match to a specific model/number memory.

I had already removed all my FrSky receivers from my planes last week. :)

Interesting.. Will have to play and see if we can repeat the issue.
