Problems with a FAS-40S current sensor firmware update

I recently upgraded my X10S to the ISRM board and Ethos and this has worked pretty well so far. I've also been updating some older receivers to ACCST v2 and some S.Port sensors as well to take advantage of the module update.

One of the sensors is a FAS-40S current sensor (with a manufacture date of 14/03/07), which was working before I updated the firmware (with the version posted on the FrSky website, 171019, BTW). I was trouble shooting a "sensor lost" problem where the S.Port sensors hooked to the receiver were dropping out after a minute or two. As I had this FAS-40S, a GPS (V2), and a FLVSS all daisy chained to a GR6 and X8R receiver (tried both ACCESS and ACCST receivers). In the end, it was the GPS causing the problem and I had to change the sensor update for the GPS time from 10s to 1s (which, BTW, showed 55:99:02 as the time??? - date was correct though...).

Anyways, the firmware update for the GPS went well and it's working ok (now I changed the speed of updates, though the time is still weird), but when updating the firmware for the FAS-40s it no longer responds when plugged into the receiver, no sensor is found! But the red light flashes when powered up and the speed of the flash changes when a LiPo is plugged into the XT-60 input. I re-did the flash update and it seemed to go OK, but no change, the FAS-40S is still not showing up as a sensor on either the GR6 or the X8R receiver.

Any ideas on what to try next? Is there an earlier firmware I can revert to and try to get this running again, I'd hate to have bricked it, they aren't cheap and I'd like to make use of it!

Thanks,

James

The file name is "FAS40S_171019.frk" and it was downloaded from webpage https://www.frsky-rc.com/fas40s/ and the actual link to the file is https://www.frsky-rc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Firmware/FCS-40A/FAS40S_171019.frk

I looks like it's still working by the LED, and I was able to flash it a second time so the S.Port still responds to some degree (or the flash would have failed). But neither receiver reports the sensor when it's plugged in.

I'm hoping at the least to get a copy of the original firmware to re-flash to the unit as that seemed to work (and as it turns out wasn't the problem I had run into originally).

Mike, thanks, that worked! The current sensor came right up when I selected "Discover new sensors" after flashing the firmware you posted.

I owe you one!

Thank you Henny. Well, I have a problem then. The FAS100S does not have firmware to upgrade (I guess required to use with Ethos), because I tried two of them, they are added to the sensors list but none of them sends readings to the TX. Just for the sake of being sure I do not have two faulty sensors, I will try them in an OpenTX system.
