problems trying to setup Heli swash HR3 with AETR but throttle zero on top (throttle input "-throttle")

Hello, I'm having problems setting up a TREX600 flybar HR3 swash heli with Tandem X20 Ethos X20-EU-Release 1.0.18.
I am used to throttle zero on top, full throttle down on AETR (Throttle and pitch on channel 3)
I've tried reversing pitch channel 3 but the mix seems to get mixed up. I can't find a way to reverse "pitch"
Anyone any ideas ?
Thanks in advance, Henk

I don't have a non-fbl heli, but what I was just playing with was this. Create a new channel using a free mix with the source as the throttle, and adjust the up/down weight such that it is opposite the "normal" throttle. Then use that as the source for pitch and throttle. I am not 100% sure that works correctly, but maybe :)

reversing the throttle works fine by changing the input on throttle to "-throttle" but the reversing the pitch seems to mess up the swash mix.
I have channel 1 Airleron, 2 Elevater, 3 throttle, 4 rudder, 5 gyro gain, 6 pitch

Could you share you model file? I would be interested in playing with it.

I don't suppose you could learn to fly with your radio setup "correctly" could you? :ROFLMAO:

Hi, not sure I can change after having flown helicopters in this mode for 26+ years but I think I found a resolution, on the Pitch setup in the Mixer I can also
change the input to "-throttle"

Yeah, I was just kidding about the change :)
I did mention in my initial reply that you should apply the -Throttle to both pitch and throttle...so is that what you ended up doing?

Yes, I did.. still fighting trying to get one servo direction changed, seems the Pitch mix doesn't allow me, I can't find much information about the HR3 swash mix regarding servo direction changes

I can reverse the "pitch" channel but the output is controlled by the swash mix and that doesn't seem to change.
For example, changing the pitch channel does change the channel but the output from the mixer stays the same.

Hi, looks like this is working with one problem left.. I need to reverse the CYCL1 servo, I can reverse the channel but the mix still remains the same, anyone any ideas how to reverse CYCL1 ?
Thanks in advance, Regards, Henk

The output should affect the servo, that's after the mix. My understanding is that, for example, when you change collective pitch two servos go up, and one down. But since all the mixing is done in the radio you should be able to just invert that servo in the outputs screen.
I have to admit that I don't have any flybar helis, and I'm still pretty new to ETHOS.

You should start with nothing modified, the first thing you do is my collective and check directions. If a servo is wrong, go to the outputs section and reverse. Then if your fore/aft or left/right cyclic are off, you reverse it by changing the weight from 100 to -100. That really should be it.
At this point it's hard to say what is wrong without seeing it. If you could share the file here, I am sure I could work it out in a few minutes :)

Hello, Attached is a CopterX (swash HR3) where I got most of the directions working but still have a problem that the Nick (forward) moves all servo's up, Cycl2 50% and Cycl1 and 3 25%.
Cycl order is Cycl 1 Cycl3
Cycl2

Thanks in advance, Regards, Henk

@HenkB Which CopterX do you have? I need to know how the servos are sitting and which way the arms come off them. What I want to know is which direction does each servo are turn to move the swash up?
As an example, here is a picture of a 450, the two servos shown, which should be cyc1 (on the left) and cyc2 (on the right) both rotate CCW to move the swash up, and the cyc3 (on the opposite side) will rotate CW to move it up. Therefore, cyc1 & 2 should both move in the same direction when the throttle stick is moved. On first glance, yours move correctly, however if you look at the pitch screen you have a weight of -50 on cyc2. Set that back to 50.

When you do that and go to your outputs screen you will notice that cyc1&2 are not moving in the same direction, cyc1 is off to the right and cyc2 is off to the left. So, you need to then reverse output on either cyc2 to get it moving the same as 1, or swap both 1 and 3. After doing that, your servos should then be good to go and all that should be left is to set proper directions for ailerons and elevators.

If you need to change the direction of ailerons/elevator I suggest you go to appropriate mix page and change the weight there from a positve to a negative as shown below.

Lastly, I see that you are using the "-throttle" for pitch and throttle, but you don't have that mix defined anywhere that I can see. Personally, to avoid extra "noise" I would set your source back to the regular throttle and go through the above setup changes where throttle up means more pitch and more throttle, and then after you get everything working properly, add in the negative throttle thing.
