Lovely, neat build, Elliot - Chas Gardiner would be proud. Flight looks good - the video sounds windy? Maybe not? Or is it a bit weighty? NICE JOB!
Thanks Doc, the Mobius Action Cam excels at picking up/amplifying wind noise, so it sounds like it was really blowing but in reality, it was just moderate, probably 8+ mph maybe? She’s no floater but not a lead sled either.

Wing cube loading: 6.9
Wing area loading 15.44 oz/sq ft
55” span
728 sq in area

Sounds good.

Happy flying.

Cheers,

Looks great in the air! Congrats on the maiden.....so what's next?
Thanks - I should probably finish building my replacement Mid-Jet (Les Rudd design) that got sidetracked by the Alpina repair and this Obelix build. I was positive I was done losing Midjets but apparently not!

I made a couple of MidJets around 45 years ago or so.

Great flying model and unusual in the air.

Hah! I didn’t realize it’s been that long (about 41 years for me). Yep, great flying model - especially given the crude flat-bottom airfoil with the flat plate reflexed elevons. I really liked the fact that it could float with the Wanderers and Gentle Ladies but also fly in stormy conditions

Yes, I think it's one of those "got it right" designs that go great in most slope flying conditions - it honks with ballast, by the way.
