To explain for those easily confused:
The Typhoon Toccata is the first INTENTIONALLY designed
replacement for the orginal 2M Typhoon bird. I took the original design and did what I could to improve it all over with an added dose of technology mixed in for a performance boost, but at the same time trying to retain the Typhoon "Feel". The curves on the fuselage are designed to resemble the original, and the fuselage is certainly not the slimmest around - even though the wing design is completely different as so much more has been learned in the last 20 years. Summing up: All of the new Typhoon Toccata design is a logical progression of my thinking on the orginal.
To de-confuse:
The Stormbird 2M and the Forza 2.5M were interim designs, quite likely improving on the Typhoon's peformance, but not Typhoon evolutions at all. A lot of people love the Forza for its exciting performance and especially its good manners. But these were different models with none of the actual legacy or even much of the thinking that went into the Typhoon - unless you count that all of the aforementioned model designs came from my mind, that is.
I suppose if you placed an original Typhoon on the deck right next to a Typhoon Toccata, then the sharp sighted might be able to see who designed both models, and most would quite likely identify a design progression beteen them. I'm not sure the same could be said of a Stormbird and Typhoon side by side - I think it would be hard to see a Typhoon legacy in a *Stormbird.
In fact the same can be said for the Alpenbrise which I freely admit is what I believe
should have happened to the Alpina, instead of the 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 versions which at least in my opinion were no improvement; in fact were several steps back in overall looks and performance when compared to the classic orginal. I honestly think that side by side with an Alpina, my Alpenbrise has a lot more in common with the gorgeous original than any actual Alpina derivative. But there - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
