New Single Stick Project

My maiden flight with the single stick I built for my pops is in the books. I did the flight yesterday and I felt like a complete noob. I guess it didn't look that bad to others, but WOW - I was working. I put a video of the first part of the flight on YouTube - but it's not much to watch.
Much of the video is of my hands -- but some of flying past.
I think we've decided I'll set the single stick up as the "student" transmitter with buddy box while dad re-orients himself to the landscape. I think it's been about 45 years since he's flow single stick - but yearns for it. I'm also probably going to see if I can get him to use the single stick with RealFlight simulator. I only mention these two things because others may want to consider this as they make the transition to the single stick. I was astounded how foreign it seemed to me. (and no... that was not a hover attempt -- it was a power out of a stall attempt...and.... ..where's the throttle again... o ya... gad zooks...

For someone without a history of flying single stick and making the transition from two sticks, in addition to using a "disposable" plane, perhaps also consider a model requiring either just aileron or rudder to make turns; getting used to the new location of the throttle and how the tx is held will probably be enough of an initial challenge.Yeah, I would have to start off with some foam to get used to it too. I have never flown a single stick, hardly ever saw one in the wild.
That is about to change.
My unscientific opinion is whichever mode we learnt on creates something like a muscle memory or wires the brain to that method. My first working Tx was a Heathkit 3 channel that had one stick for elevator and either ruder or aileron with a throttle on the side of tx. So it was easy for me to lmove on to 8 channel kit single stick Heathkits, Royals and then JR single stick transmitters.
It was always a minority choice in the 1970 and start of the 80s perhaps because it was the more expensive choice; I suspect that classic pattern flyers, who wanted a clear distinction and no interaction between rudder and aileron inputs had something to do with the mode becoming less popular, along with its greater cost of production.
How about a provocative T-shirt; "real pilots fly single stick"

Was the STL of the 3D printed part ever made available? I recently picked up a Taranis Q X7 and realized the internal layout is very similar to what you did here with the X10 internals. I'm assuming the dimensions are not actually the same, but would love to tackle doing a single stick conversion of the Q X7 using this design as a starting point for inspiration.
Is the slider that was used for the throttle control available for purchase anywhere? Was that a Hall Effect sensor or just a pot/linear pot?

I think a fair price for 3d printed parts and wood pannels should be around 50$

Was a lot of work to this point and I'm very happy with the final result.
