Need some Help

I am not sure if this belongs here but I could use some help.

Right now I am hand shaping my firewalls on my gliders. Yes I do turn them on a lathe but getting them laser cut would be ideal. If anyone has a CNC laser and some spare time I would like to chat with you about cutting some fire walls and servo trays. Obviously I will pay for your time and materials. I have been using .125" Baltic Birch Plywood for both parts.

Basically the disc in two or three different diameters. Some folks call it a firewall and others call them motor mounts.

Looks like you are using rear mounted outrunners. Please think of offering a few bulkheads for front mounted setups (geared or in-runners). I like the bulkhead in phenolic or G-10 material. I find wood susceptible to compression, with subsequent mounting problems associated with the screws (bolt heads and washers).

If using materials other than wood think of using a CNC router to cut them.

@MPP those should be super easy to make. How many did you want? If you can give me the the diameters/dimensions or an svg file i could see how many i could cut out of a 3mm 12x20 sheet.

I think I've said all I have on the subject. I'd like to see OEMs offering dimensionally stable bulkheads.

What other materials can your laser cut? Are aluminum, G-10 or carbon an option?

plywood, balsa, plexiglass, paper. Nothing thicker than 5mm

I have an 4 axis hot wire setup. I used to have a small router cnc. That has since moved on to @Wayne and he gave it to someone else i believe.

Just thought I would offer to help if parts need to be cut from Carbon Fiber or G10. Nate has you covered on the laser cutting side, but if you need them CNC cut, I have a 36" x 24 " Stepcraft 840 and can handle pretty much any thickness we would use in the hobby. I can also cut aluminum, but don't do that often currently.

Also have the ability and willing to help cut large format laser projects or something that requires thicker ply. Currently also run a 150W 48" x 36" laser cutter, but Nate has the honors and first right of refusal! Thanks.

Jason, I appreciate that more than you know. It's always the small but crucial parts that get me bogged down. I am not CAD literate so maybe I will mail you some hand made samples to copy. It would be pretty simple stuff for a person with your skills. MMT's and root ribs.

I imagine you have this sorted by now, but I can help with CAD if you still need it. I'm a mech eng and use it every day.
