Need Help: New X9 Lite won't register to pre-paired RX6R receiver already in a glider...

Hello, Everyone:

I need some help.

I have an existing glider with a previously paired RX6R receiver. My friend had the glider/receiver and gifted to me. Amazing friend, I know!

I purchased a X9 Lite with the pre-loaded SD Card. I did the firmware and bootloader instructions on the webpage and video. Worked as instructed.

However, I go into the radio and model to the Internal RF and select ACCESS. I've changed the channel range to 8 to limit the latency per the instructions. I go to Module and select [Reg]. The X9 Lite radio started beeping and saying waiting.

Then, I go to the receiver and press the button while supplying power. I get a red and green light with beeping from the receiver as well.

However, the X9 Lite never shows the RX6R on the screen like the instruction and video show. They just beep at each other.

I think I'm missing something since the RX6R receiver is not new, but the transmitter is...

Yes, I'm new to FrSky and OpenTX stuff.

Sincerely,

First, are you sure that the RX6R was being used as an ACCESS receiver. It comes as ACCST... Try to bind it in ACCST and see if that works.
If not, it could be that it is not on the 2.1 RF system. The new radio most likely is. So. You will need to get the receiver out, and update it, or you can downgrade the radio to 1.1.3.
All of the new receivers are coming with 2.1 installed, so I would recommend updating the receiver.

@Chris Thank you. As you've written, I'm thinking the issue is old firmware on receiver and new firmware on the transmitter. Now...what hardware do I need to update the receiver? I see information about "flashing" onto the receiver, and I see some needed cable(s).

Just today, I got my X9 Lite with pre-loaded SD Card, so I'm thinking I have the files. I just need to get them onto the receiver.

Can you help with what I need to purchase to connect the transmitter and receiver together to do this?

You should have everything that you need. Well, almost. Do you have any of the cables that came in the RX6R package?
If you do, all you need to do is download the latest version of the appropriate firmware (ACCST or ACCESS, whatever you want to use) and put that file in the firmware folder of the SD Card.
For ACCST you should use version 2.1.1. And for ACCESS you should use version 2.1.7.
Plug the wiring into the receiver that has a servo end on it and plug the servo end into the smart port of the radio. On the X9 lite it is on the bottom of the radio. There may be a S above it. The signal wire, usually yellow, goes towards the little key void.
Then navigate to the sd card page in the System menu, choose the file and write it through the smart port. Don't worry about power, the radio will supply it.
I do this every day, so I apologize if I am not giving enough detail...

Again, thank you.

I do not have the cables that came with the RX6R. The receiver is in the glider with all the servos, etc. Basically, from my friend, the glider is a Ready-to-Fly model - receiver, battery, servos, etc.

If the receiver is not accessible you will need to downgrade the radio using the same steps, except you will not have to attach the receiver and you will write the file to the internal module.
In the downloads section of FrSkys website, pick your radio and click the downloads tab. Click on FIRMWARE - ISRM RF Module, then choose the one at the bottom. ISRM v1.1.3.
