Neat trick for folding props.

One of our customers showed us this very simple trick to help keep the blades closed when the motor is off. You could use a simple rubber band, but this is an elastic string that should last a little longer. Just enough tension to keep a blade pulled up on the fuselage.

Pretty handy and easy peasy! I sometimes make rubber bands from my leftover bike inner tubes. They come in various sizes but the smaller ones for a 23-25mm tire work well for glider spinners. I cut them perpendicular to their length or a little oblique to make them a bit bigger. Of course you can cut them as narrow or thick as you like. Since they are butyl rubber they hold up pretty well too.

Using elastic and inner tubes are neat ideas. I've been using lightweight o-rings from eBay. They last a good long time, too.

Heck, a junky rubber band will do the trick if in a pinch, but they don't last long. I wish I had learned this little trick long ago.
