NCSS F3F Race #6 for 2019

Konrad

Very Strong User
I’d like to thank the NCSS for holding these races. I really do see the attraction of F3F racing. I had a great time with a bunch of great guys/pilots. All ready to help with any questions and offering guidance to issue they saw.

I do think 60" M.O.M. is more exciting. But it takes a lot more man power to run. And the risk to ones ship is far greater! For almost the same thrill the risk to ones ship is far less with F3F racing. While a good F3F ship costs 4 times or more than a 60" M.O.M. ship the actual cost of racing is less with the F3F format.

Now I need to apologize as I really had no business being out there last Sunday with my Strega. Prior to race day I only had two landing with the model. I can still see the guys running for the cover of their cars or scattering as I was making my landing approaches. While I’m not trying to make excesses my Strega was still out of trim and my radio programing was deficient! More detail can be found here (Read how not to race an F3F race).

It really is bad form letting race day interfere with ones fight test program. Next time out I hope to be better prepared, both with a ship in trim and with the knowledge I learned from all the heats we flew.

All the best,
Konrad
