My Beater glider!

This is my revamped Eli 2M. It has a funny history. I used to call it my beater glider and treated it as such. When I bought it I was frustrated because the fuselage was so narrow (22ml) that the recommended motor (Dys 22) did not fit. Al least not until I pulled out the Dremel and removed an uncomfortable amount of structure. It had a slow climb and got very hot. Next I tried a geared Haker A10. It fit and had a good climb. Problem was the long props would bind on the square fuselage sides. Occasionally on a motor restart I could hear the motor humming from the ground but the prop not spinning.
So I gave up and just hung an Emax Gt turbo on the front of the firewall. Right out in the breeze not faired in at all. Now it balanced without added weight and climbed like a rocket. With a 3S 450mah battery I can fly it for 15 minutes with multiple climbs. I was surprised it flew so well and min sink and L/D really did not seem to have changed much. Then a spoiler warped so I just eliminated the spoilers and associated servos and wires. Weight dropped to 470 grams. In the process I realized this is a great glider. At the field you just slide the wings on, hook up the battery and fly. Tomorrow it gets its new reborn maiden flight 👍
