Multiplex Mini Solius --> RC Conversion

Mine looks pretty straight PXL_20230217_020613616.jpg

It's kind of mad at myself when I accidentally ordered this white opaque e6000 ie Blanco. But actually it's really great for white foam projects that are made out of EPP I'm finding. Kind of hides mistakes and fills in.

I bought 2 of these gliders from MrMpx at the RC expo last year for my kids to play with them. They don't play with them any more maybe it's time to make one into an RC glider. But i don't care for wingerons so i'll go with conventional aileron elevator.

Hopefully having one of the only planks will make it easier to know which planes mine once they all get going.

Putting my battery kind of on, slightly behind CG it only needed 2x micro magnets and 2.5g in the nose to hit 22% CG.
Auw is 65g.

Did you chuck it before you put the gear in to see how much reflex it might need?

i couple times. im not set on the cg. I taped in my nose weight.
I was talking to @Hawaii Sloper about this issue i was having on chucking it before parts. Sometimes it would glide nicely and other times it would just immediately nosedive. I think it is just very sensitive to bad throws or incorrect placement of my hands while throwing and a lack of reflex. I than tried cutting the elevons free and adding some up to them and that did seem to help. But every once i a while it would do the nose dive thing. I think maybe since nothing was keeping the reflex on a hard throw it was bending the elevons flat again.

Paint and stickers brought the weight up to about 80g

The sudden diving is most likely having the static margin too narrow. In other words, move the CG forward and add some up, elevon which you did. Looking forward to seeing it fly.

Not uncommon for some folks to hold a button during launch to give a little extra up elevator. Let go as soon as the plane is going up. Just an idea.

Love the build!! I love seeing the creativity with these simple planes.
