Multiplex EVO 12 conversion to XHT module

Terry

New User
All,
I've been using a dht module for several years but now need 10 channels. I could use a power expander with my current setup but was thinking about going sbus.
If I switch to a xht module I can use sbus with a x receiver.
My question is where does the sbus wire from the xht module connect. The dht only uses 3 wires now there's the sbus wire hanging around.
Thanks.......Terry

Terry,

Don't think that will work, I think you are limited to 8 channels with the Multiplex EVO 12 due to the way you are limited to sending data to the XHT module. PPM only carries 8 channels without breaking the standard. Perhaps there is something people have figured out, but nothing I have heard of.

Thanks for the reply. If the xht module won't give me more than 8 channels, I'll look to something else. Maybe a servo equalizer.

I am considering evo conversion too.
XJT conversion recognizes 9 channels from mc4000 if i recall. I have not tried 12 yet. To see more than 8 one needs 2nd receiver with fancy binding or s.bus distribution.
I have not seen "standard" that limits ppm to 8 channels. Do you have a reference?

I have no reference for this. I thought that since the EVO is 12 channels, it would pass that along but Wayne say no so I'm going with that. I'll probably stick to my dht module and use a servo equalizer to operate more servos.

Thanks. Good input. Searching a bit more this article seems to explain challenges:
Looking to see the actual ppm (mpx) and module (frsky) decoding capabilities. Time to buy more toys!

Evening All.
I too have been running an dht module in an evo9.
I have decided to change it for an xht and I have encountered a problem I am hopping someone could help with.
Originally the wires were soldered to the 6 pin plug on the board 3 pins and a jumper to pin 2/5. However the xht has 4 wires. Can anyone give me a clue as to which wire goes to which pin please.
My original notes have disappeared over time.

As I recall you just need plus, minus and the PPM signal. Should be the same connections as the old module..

Terry, et al,

I just purchased an Evo 12 from a resident of Canada. It came with an HFM4 M-Link module I cannot use because I live in the US. If you can use this it's your for the cost of postage.

Additionally, this topic was worked on extensively and is discussed on RCG in Part IV of the Royal Evo thread series. The pulse to the RF module issue was solved by a board Shread-RC marketed fro some time but everyone I know has refrained from business interactions with Shread resulting from their treatment of customers of all levels. The project to convert the pulse train to the internal module was picked up by at least one person which I am in discussion with due to my desire to become the principal on this project if it was not fully resolved. In view of the fast approaching holidays I do not know how much of this will be discussed before 2022 arrives. I can state the files, records of the project needed to be searched for so we will see what happens.

I hope we get there. I own four Royal Evo's and a Profi 4000 that I'm not giving up!
