Motor mounting questions Gentle Lady EVO

Emax Eco1404 for the Gentle Lady. I'm not sure what to do with the three wires on the motor. I would imagine that they would be power, ground, signal? They are not marked. Also, how does one mount the wires thru the mounting flange. I would Invision that a larger hole needs to be put just above the rounded part of the flange. I know that there are four somewhat large holes in the mounting flange, but the three wires will not go through without forcing. I've been to the Emax site, but nothing but data is listed.

That is a three phase DC brushless motor, each wire goes to a group of coils in the motor and it is required to use a brushless ESC or Electronic Speed Controller in order to properly run it. I drilled out one of the cooling holes in the mount to fit the motor wires through on mine, it might also help to remove the heat shrink tubing at the base of the motor, that will let them bend back easier. As for an ESC, this one will work: https://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbyw...787&gbraid=0AAAAAD_WU4AhjfvvUQTr3tTNi6ISStQQS

You will need corresponding male bullet connectors for the motor, the ESC will not have a battery connector on it either.

The 3 wires from the motor go to the 3 wires on the ESC. It does not matter how you hook them up. If you start the motor and the prop goes backwards just switch two of the wires. Other connections from the esc go to the battery and one to the receiver. On Frsky receivers it is the number 3 input. Throttle.

Yes, I thought some modification of the motor mount must be necessary. Thanks, I now feel better about modifying it, and yes, I have the esc and bullet connectors on order.
Thanks,

Thanks, Clear now

Just ask if you have any questions, we would like you to have a good experience with the build and end up with a plane you will love. :)
