What am I missing? Not seeing this sensor detected on Q X7S when connect to X6R receiver. Only see blinking red light on sensor. S-Bus port enabled as delivered?

Did you do the discover new sensors?
Don't use Sbus. Use S.Port.
I just caught that little detail, must be all this bench time waiting for flying season! So, any additional sensors daisy chain off the voltage sensor and S. Port? S-Bus is then for...?

S.Port is for Telemetry.
S.Bus is for servos and flight controlers. A sbus servo or sbus capable flight controller is needed. It carries up to all 16 channels.

While I don't think (I don't know) what you describe (S-Bus, S Port) would damage the unit. But please be aware of this warning. Its just another variable in the mix.

It is because of this polarity issue I've put a hammer to all my mini lipo sensors. I like their size but for me just not worth the risk to the rest of my aircraft installation.

I have seen this suggested elsewhere: a balance charge extension can be used with the MLVSS. The extension is left connected to the MLVSS. In theory, it would need to be connected only once, with the correct polarity carefully observed. From then on, the batteries would plug into the extension. The battery and extension connectors are keyed. This should prevent a connection with the polarity mistakenly reversed. But one more set of contacts in the path to add resistance...

I saw that also, happened to have some 3S extension leads and did likewise!
