On my INPUT screen 5/14
Rud 100 ---- E40 SBup Rud
80 --- E50 SB dwn Rud

Where the dashes are there should be Rud just like
Ail Ele Thr But not on the Rudder line??

Can't figure out why?? It works ok but why the missing Rud?

OK - Sounds like you have it assigned to switch SB with 40%, 50% and 100% values. Is that correct? You can setup inputs for any channel you like.

yep....however the screen (inputs) 5/14 looks like this:
Ail 100 ail E50 SDUP ail
80 ail E50 SDdwn ail
Ele 100 ele E50 SAup ele
80 ele E50 SAdwn ele
Thr 100 thr ----
Rud 100 ---- E40 SBup Rud
80 --- E50 SBdwn Rud

(as you can see the Rud lines (no Rud) after the values. Where is it??
I have tried setting up with the switches on that line (all work except the Rud).
I have left out the squigglys before the ail ele thr (squiggly is at rud line but not the word RUD)
Mixer page 6/14 has all of the controls listed ok. I am dumbfounded...gotta have something
thrown wrong somewhere?? Thanks for advice.

Got to that input, edit it and add RUD to the "input" field. It is a reference name.

That fix it?

Yes I have tried that many times....the SOURCE line in the edit mode will not bring up RUD
It will bring up Ail Ele Thr but not RUD. Highliting that line "Source" will let you move a stick
and it should bring up that particular input...All do except RUD???

yes.....sticks calibrated.....and did it again.....I don't think you are understanding
what exactly I am trying to say? Rud does not show up on the input screen where the
Ail Ele Thr do. Maybe another screen has something to do with it???

I'm not sure why you are running into this. It is one of those things that would be easy to understand if I was sitting over your shoulder. Try setting up a new model memory, does it work there?

Yea Wayne I know what you mean. I hooked it up to Companion 2.2 and on the set up screen where you
look at the channels etc....there is no RUD just (---) the others: Ail Ele Thr are there along with all the switches.
But not the Rud. I have tried setting up new models, but get the same results. The Rud is ok on the Mixer
screen. I guess I will have to live with this abnormality? Cheers. Bill

Wayne, I am going to attach 3 files (snaps off of my Taranis via Companion 2.2) As you can see
where the RUD should be there is only (---). Even the alarms line. Your thoughts. Should I reload
FW 2.2? Thanks, Bill

You can't set the source to RUD at all? Not sure what would cause this, can't say that I have seen it before.

Nope. Have tried almost everything...even changing the Radio set up at the bottom to different
Modes....still nothing. Stick movement goes right to (---) when I move the rudder all the others work
fine when sticks move when setting source. And the center beep shows (---) for the RUD. Ask Chris
what his thoughts are ....he loaded the 2.2 a couple months back. Tell him I finally got the radio to read
the IMAGES off the SD card...don't exactly know how, but that is working now. What to do???

Chris suggests checking the gimbal connector to make sure that one of the terminals has not been bent back.

But your rudder does work, right? If so, the above suggestion will not be the issue.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Go to the EDIT RADIO SETTINGS -- and in the Hardware screen the top line is for Rudder. It appears as if you have accidentally placed "---" in the space next to that. You can change the name to something like yaw in that box -- but it left blank it's default is RUD.

Tolerated my questions! Cheers

This reminds me of my initial setup error. I wanted only high and low rates but had a 3-position switch, so I defined up, middle & left the down position blank. Came to find out through trial and error that if the switch was placed in the down position the channel quit working.

Moral: If you define a switch, you need to define all possible positions.

The "Best Practice" is to leave one default line with no switch at the bottom of the rates lines. This way if there is a programming error - or hardware (switch) failure the default line will be in play.
