Mini Wanderer maiden flight

I arrived at the field just before 7:00am. The air was cold and dead calm. Perfect for a test flight. I am lucky to live 5 minutes from the field. I only had one concern. Despite being very careful the fin was just a couple of degrees off. Not sure how that happened as it was square when I set it in epoxy and a braced it. Oh well i decided to just fly it and if need be fix it later.
One hand toss and it looked good. Holding it in my hand before launch I was amazed how light it was. With a 2s 450mah battery it is under 200 grams!!! I made no effort to build it light.
Launched on half throttle and all looked good. Advanced to about 5/8 throttle and pulled back a bit and it really climbed.
This new motor in the spinner is a winner.
Made about 5 climbs and adjusted trims.
Unfortunately the prop brake in the esc was not working so I can not evaluate performance. Looking forward to seeing how it does with the prop folded and not slowly spinning acting as an airbrake. Oh, and the slightly crooked fin seemed to have no effect. One thing I might mention, I do not think I got the basswood spars in my kit. No problem though I think it will be plenty strong enough.
