Mini Q

Yesterday I saw Jeremy's mini-Q. I noticed that the full down he was using only brought the elevons down to being in profile with the the airfoil. Jeremy told me he was happy with the inverted responce of the mini-Q.

Unfortunately we didn't have enough wind (lift) to fly the mini-Q, so I can't say how well the inverted flight looks.

Finally got the chance to fly the thing w/o racing someone. The winds were in the 30's.
It could of used a little ballast but was still good to go. Inverted was good, about 1/8" to a 3/16" forward stick and stable.

Both Matt and I got to ring out the Mini Q's over the weekend at Coyote. Saturday was a blistering 35+ mph day and everyone was surprised to see these small light planes taking on these big winds with ease. Granted they could have used some ballast, but we were still able to penetrate and have a blast screaming them around. I think the difference between Matt and my plane is he used a 4.8 volt AA pack and I used a 700mah Life battery, so when the winds were lighter on Sunday mine was able to stay up and easier for me to stay flying where Matt was having a hard time just staying up. We will have to weigh are planes to make sure. I will weigh mine tonight.

You are telling us that Matt had a hard time staying up?

We should be getting more of these planes in tomorrow is tracking is correct. We will get them added to the site shortly after that. Yes, we sold the first batch without them ever getting on the site. Locals get the goods.

A harder time than I did, yes, But we weighed our planes and his is actually a tad bit lighter than mine! Mine weighs 11.6oz (328g) and Matts is 11.4oz (325g) so now I am thinking it must be where he set his CG? He is just having a harder time in the lighter stuff? I set mine at 20mm, Matt's is at 23-24mm (makes sense why mine weighs a bit more). Or it could be his reflex he has? maybe it is not as much as mine? But just pulling back on the stick a slight bit fixes that. ?

Well they have landed at Aloft! I saw a plethora of red and yellow ones! Unfortunately the only "birds" were in yellow.

I went to Aloft looking to buy one of these birds. But came home with some thing else.

We got some in today, but don't think they will make it up onto the site today.. Running out of hours in the day..
