Mike's Hangar Templates

Shoelace

Very Strong User
Hey guys...

Has anyone created a model using one of Mike's templates using the newest firmware update? I've created a folder called, "MODELS," on my SD card, I downloaded the .bin file and can see it on my SD card under file manager, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to find a, "RESTORE MODEL," when I try to use it. For those of you that have successfully used one of his templates, what am I missing?

Thanks in advance. I'd really like to use his F3F template in one of my gliders.

I think Konrad uses those. Pretty sure that's what he was showing me at sunset. I had not ever heard of it before. Sounded pretty cool. Hope you figure it out.

Restore Model? I put all the templates into a folder called templates. When I want to create a new model, I clone the desired template, move it to some other folder, rename it, and dig in.

Maybe I got some bad information... I read somewhere that you create a MODELS folder and Ethos would know to look in there and there would be a RESTORE option. I'm able to locate the template but from there I'm getting a little mixed up on how to move that template into the models area.

Sorry if this is too basic, but let me backup. Here is my simulator and you will see I have 3 folders, A, AA, and Uncategorized. Uncategorized means these models existed prior to Ethos supporting folders.
If you click on the white plus sign in the upper right corner, you can create a folder. What I have done, is use that to create a Templates folder. Then when I downloaded Mikes templates I put them all in there.

To get started with your own model, you would first tap on the template of Mikes that you want to use, and then tap Clone.

A new model will be created.

Then tap on that model and choose Change folder and you will see a picker that allows you to pick one of your other folders (I will assume you will create some).

I chose A, and now I am in folder A with my newly created model.

I'm missing something. I go to my SD card and I find the .bin file. If I click on that file, I will see: COPY, RECEIVE FILE HERE, SEND FILE, MOVE, and DELETE. Now, you'd think that MOVE would allow me to choose a place, it doesn't. I tried, COPY, so then I created a templates folder, and there's no way to PASTE it there. I've been playing with a bunch of options, but I can't seem to move the template over to my models. I'm sure I'm just being stupid, but how do I move that .bin file?

You don't use the file system. Go to Model Select. You only deal with the bin files as bin files when you copy them to the radio.
