Mid-Jet Build Log

Squeezed in a flight today. Wispy fog tendrils were occasionally sweeping through. Wondering if my vertical fin is a tad too small. Seems like it might be a little smaller than the one I lost. No dihedral, swept wing, small vertical - would that explain the roll oscillations? Could also just be bumpy conditions at Four Corners.

At the end of the video, you see me command right, left, right, left, aileron in an effort to observe adverse or proverse yaw. The 1st right and left are normal, but the 2nd right and left are increasingly sluggish, followed by loss of control where it continues to slow roll left to inverted and dropping the nose for a nice out of control down wind cartwheel landing. No damage. Watching in slow motion, seems like I simply stalled it.

Man it sure looks cool in the air! I have had luck in similar situations with adding some differential. Seems like it wouldn't work on a flying wing but it does. Give it a shot.

That’s the plan - I have it set up on a pot but will wait for smoother conditions - like at Tick pt.

On the previous one, I found that the limiting factor for dialing in differential on flying wing with full span elevons is avoiding pitch coupling with aileron input.
