Lost with the OpenTX 2.3.14

So I recently switched from a Taranis X9D+ with an older version of OpenTX 2.0.9 !!! to a new X9D 2019 loaded with the latest OpenTX software 2.3.14, I also have an XJT module plugged in the back so I can bind with some of my older receiver, however some of the future that I really enjoyed using on my older X9D with older version of the OpenTX I cannot seem to find on this new version, I don’t seem to be able to get Rvolt or RSSI indications on my telemetry screen? What and I missing or doing wrong? I am using a D4R-ii receiver for my initial set up any insights would be appreciated

The process to get these telemetry sensors is the same as for the X9D You set them in the Telemetry page or by opening a second page and assign them using Special functions as before.

thats what’s confusing, on the display page (Pg 14/14) under top bar I cannot seem to be able to change the value in front of the “Voltage source ” there is nothing else selectable except the three “—-“ and same for altitude I cannot seem to be able to change the bars into anything else, also on the previous page (telemetry” under RSSI Source I cannot change the value from default to anything else

this latest version of OpenTX is so foreign to me I thought I had a good handle on OpenTX 🤷🏼‍♂️

ok. what is your voltage source. do you have one of the frsky voltage sensors? you need to click on discover new sensors. if any sensors connected to the receiver S-Port pop up they are available. Once this is done you will be able to select it as a source. This process has been part of OTX for a long time.

Don’t have any voltage sensors, I’ve always been able to get the RX voltage off the receivers itself with the older version of the OpenTX, sometimes the RX voltage is readable under A1 Valve and other times it’s available under RVOLT, but none of those seem to be available on my latest X9D ?

Henny, you were absolutely correct, once I did the discover sensors all the information I was looking for showed up. So I now have a question if I update my old X9D to the latest software will be just like my 2019 version ? I really like the initial model set up steps on the latest firmware

Yes - there is no difference in the two X9D's as far as OpenTX is concerned...except, of course, you won't be able to have ACCESS on the older one.
The change in how telemetry worked was one of the big updates from the 2.0 days. The other one that trips up people would be short file names - especially sound files. They need to be 6 characters or less (plus the .wav) or they won't play. So "flapsup.wav" won't work, but "flapup.wav" will. Same for other files - pictures, scripts, etc.
