Lele - (Aloft 68)

Yeah, we tend to load test by hand a bunch, especially with new designs. We had all been load testing these wings by hand, and not one of us expected to have an issue.

This was a case of skipping the step where we double glue the spar joints after removing the wing from the build table. This happens when there are more than one builder, and not taking the time to double check things. With the transparent covering we can do a lot of investigation visually without pulling the wing apart. When you have a failure, I suggest you leave things as they are until a while later and you can fully think things out, and then go back and investigate. Preserve the data.. LOL

Started on the new fuselage last night.

A quick look at the new layout for the Le le fuselage. Lighter battery, lighter motor, shorter nose, longer tail and plug in wings.

Should be 30mm wide instead of 40, and just slightly longer than she was, but overall lighter and cleaner.

Wife was out of town so snuck in some time on the replacement fuselage. Really like how this one is coming together.

Happy to report we went from a 40mm spinner down to a 30mm spinner! This is a much thinner and shorter fuselage than the first version. Swapping to the smaller motor made a huge difference. I actually start the design process around the motor. Larger motor dicated the larger fuselage.

Really excited as I always wanted this fuselage to be around these dimensions. To me it looks a ton better.

Can we assume the AH-100 fuselage will be about the same just scaled up?

The AH-100 is similar in many respects, but is a large structure. I may be massively off on the CG for the AH-100 fuselage again, but I hope not.

Just about done with the new fuselage.

Need to do some tweaks to the center wing joint and add the final bulkhead. Guess I need to build out the canopy correctly too. LOL I always seem to do the canopy last. Can't wait to see this take physical shape.

Le Le center section is looking really good.

Think we will have laser parts by the end of the week if things go smoothly. (Do they ever go smoothly?)
