KST HS08

Konrad

Very Strong User
I've noticed that the great X0-8 is all but out of stock. Is this to make room for the new KST HS08?
Any ETA on these new servos?

All the best,
Konrad

All but one, last time I looked (Thursday?)

Ok, if back in stock then the delay in stocking isn't as a result of new products in the wings.

So the main question is when will we see the KST HS-08?

We just got a very large KST shipment in on Friday, so all should be in stock. I'd have to ask Wayne for the ETA on those new servos, but I'd guess at least another month. We already have a lot of new product to put up at the moment.

We will have to see how quick we can get them from KST. No word just yet.

Yikes, As THE premier glider vendor for KST you have to rely on RCGoofs for media data?

There I fixed it, removed the graffiti.

The previous iteration had some issues with gear wear and backlash. Definitely second tier to KST and MKS (the older ones). I like that they are S-Bus!

The new servos are built by a third party company, I think they use a FrSky logic board and FrSky programming to support Sbus and F-port. For those that are asking, F-port is basically Sbus combined with Smart Port, so a single port can do both. The servos can also use good old PWM inputs.

I would like FrSky to have some time to prove these new servos are 100% before I offer them to our customers. Really not interested in another firmware special at this time..

Another new servo they are coming out with is the new X06. :) No pictures yet, but this might be a good one for the smaller lighter DLG crowd, etc. :)

Is this aimed at the 1 meter ships? Does the "6" signify 6 grams or 6mm width? I would love to see a 6mm thick servo in the quality of KST!

That's the way they label their servos so I would suspect 6 mm width.

Ok they've landed at Aloft. The HSO8 will go into my second Aeroic Redshift as aileron servos. The XO6 will go into my Stika F5K (1.5m electric DLG). And my 1meter DLG Hawk.

The XO6 is a bit odd looking as the feedback pot is flush with the case (black rectangle). Good news is the spline looks and feels the same on the XO6 as it does on the XO8.

The HSO8 is a bit of a mixed bag, It has gained weight 11g vs 9g for the XO8+. On a single cell it really takes a hit with an advertised speed of 0.21 sec/60° vs the XO8+ 0,18 sec/60°. At 6v and 7.4 volts it is rated as being faster and stronger than the XO8+. It also appear to not be rated for two lipos (8.4V). The motor appears to be a larger diameter all be it a bit shorter. It does appear to just fit most trays. If retro fitting make sure no epoxy fillets are near the lower web (inside) of the tray.

I saw boxes and boxes of KST stuff.
I'm sure Wayne hates it when I post stuff that isn't up on the site yet*. I do this just in case somebody is about to place an order with a firm that might not be as ethical as Aloft Hobbies.

I need to be clear that when I said the HSO8 wasn't rated for 2 lipos I wasn't saying they can't be used with 2 lipo. Just that the spec sheet didn't show any performance ratings for 8.4V (dual lipo)

*But then Wayne often tells us he has inventory that isn't up on the site.

All the best,
Konrad

I rather buy from Aloft (@Wayne) then some one else. Knowing that they are 'just days way from being listed on the site' will make the decision easier. I will be using the HS08 B mount on a V-tail of a glider on a 6V Nimh.

@Konrad Found different specs for the voltage range for HS08 then you found...... https://www.kstsz.com/kstsz_Product_2063655402.html
