Is there no PWM on a G-XR8 with ACCESS

Aloft,
I tried all day...

X9D+ SE 2019 - firmware v2.3.9, ISRM v2.1.0 - (FW-X9DP_X9DPSE_2019-200617, FW-X9DP2019-ISRM-v2.1.0)
Newly purchased G-RX8 from Aloft (thanks for the Snickers...) - (FW-ACCESS-G-RX8_v2.1.0)

I am attempting to set up a new G-RX8 with 7 channels for a 3D Printed 1.7m Hotliner. I originally had the Rx flashed with ACCESS firmware (FW-ACCESS-G-RX8_v2.1.0) and could not get it to go into PWM mode for the 7th channel to operate. Additionally the RSSI was well below the critical alarm threshold of (32) and continually alarming. Jumper, no jumper, flash, re-flash, 5 o'clock beverage and still no luck. I could register and bind but no PWM mode.

Only after flashing with ACCST firmware (G-RX8_ACCST_2.1.2_FCC) was I able to get the 7th channel working and the RSSI issue went away.

1) So, can you use PWM with ACCESS on a G-RX8 receiver? If so what is the magic firmware version number and sequence as the instructions stated in the manual do not work.
I do not recall reading anywhere that stated you couldn't. Thanks for your support.

Kind Regards,
Dana

In access mode the receiver features are selected using the receiver options on the radio.

There are two issues.
1. The G-RX8 can operate in 6 channel mode and Ch8 becomes the S-Bus output, this also results in Ch7 having no output. The Receiver LED will flash blue. To change this you need to connect a jumper between the signal pins on channel 1+2. Then perform the binding process. To operate in 8ch mode the LED will flash green.

2. ACCESS has the same process and can be set using options on the radio.

3. When you say jumper in Jumper not sure what you mean with RSSI below 32db was this in ACCESS mode, how did you range check this. During range check the model needs to be at least 1m above the ground and in range check mode you should be able to achieve at least 30 to 50 range before low RSSI warning.

4. In ACCESS mode the RSSI warnings need to be lowered to 35 and 32 db. In ACCST (D16) it should be 45 and 42 db.

The G-RX8 manual does advise how setup needs to happen.

Yep- menu in the transmitter. Right next to the binding functions. (Think you click on receiver 1 and a menu pops up.)

Nice job on putting together the 3D printed plane. Can you post up some details on that? I have not run across that one before. Maybe a build thread?

Thank you all, I continued today and was successful after a few attempts. I now have the "green" LED in ACCESS. There is definitely something lost in the FrSky to English translation. I believe my mistake was holding the F/S button during binding in ACCESS which is not what you are supposed to do. You know like the other ACCST binding...

I could not see anywhere in the transmitter where you could select SBUS/PWM for the receiver. I will play with it at a later time.

Thank you all for the support.
