How to populate vacant switch ports in a Taranis X9E to provide channels 17-32

I have just installed an external XHT module in my Taranis X9E to provide for a third X8R receiver and extra receiver channels 17-24. I have bound the 3rd X8R receiver to the external module, but the Taranis X9E does not recognize any of the extra switches/pots (sources) that have been plugged into the vacant switch board switch ports. I am running the X9E on Open TX version 2.2.3.

Does anyone have an idea as to what I may have done incorrectly and how I can use my extra switches to gain receiver channels 17 thru 24?

You need to go into the settings for the radio and tell it you have added the switches. You need to tell it what parts and what the switches are. 2 or 3 position, etc. I have not messed with that for a while, but think it is under the heading of "hardware".

You do not need to add switches to access your new channels. But depending on what you are doing, that might be a handy solution.

Hi Wayne,

I could not find the page for hardware on my X9E. I checked this out - and there was an answer that it was on page 8 on a X9D radio. Page 8 on my radio has a global variables table and I have no idea how it to use it. Where could I find information about where to find the hardware page to change the settings for adding switches.

Ignore the page numbers!! These numbers will change depending on the options turned on for your firmware. For example if you have the copter options turned on or off. Checking the headings for each page. It will be under the radio setup, not the model.

Wayne,

Thanks for your help in setting up the extra switch ports in my X9E. Once I was able to find the hardware page, in the radio settings, I was all set to go. I appreciate your helping me out
