How to connect Neuron 60 II to Archer GR6 (not Plus).

GWCTas

New User
Hi,
I have read the posts on connecting the Neuron II 60 to the Archer PLUS GR8 but they didn't help me. The GR6 has female connectors on the wires from ESC and the Neuron has the same female connectors.
I have read various posts online and none have helped either. The install is in a R, E, F and Motor glider.

Any help would be appreciated.
George

The Neuron II 60 supports three ways of connecting it according the manual from FrSky:
- FBUS
- PWM + S.Port
- SBUS + S.Port

The manual shows pictures of how it needs to be connected. The Archer GR6 is not an FBUS receiver so only PWM + S.Port or SBUS + S.Port is usable for you.

Hope this is helpful, otherwise let us know.

Thanks for your reply. My original question mustn't be clear. I have seen the connecting options in the manuals for both the GR6 and the Neuron. The problems are -
  • The GR6 doesn't have S.Port it only has SBUS
  • The SBUS on the GR6 is in a 6 pin Molex connector and the single female socket from the Neuron is too big to connect to the Molex
I must be missing something as this shouldn't be so hard?

EDIT: I have found that the GR6 supports S.Port but I can't work out how?

The S.Port is also on the side 6-pin molex connector, it's the 3rd contact from the left. You just need a molex connector, just like you would need for SBUS.

The above post is correct. That little logo for that pin is the S-Port logo.

you will need to do a little soldering to make the correct 2 wires from their plugs connect. Frsky does not offer a pre wired patch cord.

I looked more closely at your pictures and IMG_0704.webp shows that you already have the 6 pin molex connector with cables attached. The JR-plug with yellow (S.Port signal), red (+) and black (-) is the connector that has S.Port. If you have a male-male servo JR-extension cable you could connect the plugs together without the need to solder or crimp a new cable.

Thanks Wayne.

Thank you. I can make up the necessary connector and try that.

I have now done this for the S.Port signal wire. I soldered 2 male servo pins together and used that as a patch. I'll do the same for the -'ve as shown in the manual for S.Port + PWM.
