how are you guys connecting servos to frsky archer plus s6r mini?

my archer plus s6r mini just showed up and i has the smallest connectors I've had to use. They look like 3 pin ZH's. the board came with some male to female ZH jumpers and one with a ZH and an olde style servo connector.

I can make up my own jumpers although I may have to buy a new crimper - old one looks too big , maybe down to JST PH size or another step smaller. I could splice leads from servos to the pigtails which is a bit messy, or cut off the old connectors on the servos and try to use ZH plugs.

I seem to remember that there was a converter which connected to the sbus port on the receiver and had a box on the other end with more than enough connection points for conventional servos and the lead to the ESC. I need 4 ports, ESC, each of two elevons, and rudder/nose-gear.

Am I missing something here?

this may be the converter that you are referring to :

Nope - FrSky is using JST 1mm pitch connectors, and include adapters to 1.2mm spacing as this is the other common connector size for micro gear. Unlike standard sized gear, Micro has never settled on a single standard connector. When FrSky was developing these receivers (mostly at my insistence) they asked what size connector they should use. I was suggesting the 1mm, others wanted the 1.2 and the Germans wanted no connectors and minimal weight. Think the 1mm won out as the best compromise. They can be unsoldered and removed to maximum weight savings.

Anyhow, I think the adapters are very handy as one can chop them up and solder them onto existing servos if needed. This is what we have done for our Mini Wanderer. My old eyes don't like crimping tiny things, so I prefer a little solder instead.

Hopefully we will stock some nice micro servos with the correct plugs soon. Sadly most servo companies want we to order way too many at a time to be practical. And when it comes to micro connectors, again there is no standard, so servo companies hate this little game too.

@Wayne are you going to carry some of those adapters? I looked but couldn't find any on your site and I believe they only send 2 with each receiver.
