Any chance of seeing one of these anytime soon ? If theres a manual for the other Tx's why not the horus ? I know it might be out of date almost as soon as it hit the shelves etc but for us software challenged folk it would be a life saver . Even just examples of setups on various planes would be cool . Everytime I go back to the horus to program in a new plane its like a frightmare . It took me a mth to figure out throtle cut on my taranis so dont even think of telling me to go the open tx route . I have updated my receivers but havent dared do my Tx . From what I gather I have a version that doesnt really need updating so I wont . That shows how challenged I am with it all . Having said that I love the horus I just wish it was like my Hitec A9 to put models in .

Do you mean something like this:
X10manual.png

This brand new OpenTX manual for the X10 radios will be available very soon!

Or did you mean one for FrOS? I think frSky has one of those here:

Hope this helps!

O.M.G. yes the Fros is what I was after and when u posted that it bought back memories of seeing one like that for the horus 12 . My memory is shot . I havent been flying much of late ( probably a good thing ! ) so that slipped my mind . What I would like better is if Im not asking too much is examples of planes eg twin engine , flaps 2x alierons etc and how to program any conceivable outcome one may want . I know I sound like a dummy but I miss the hitec A9 way of things . I can follow most ! instructions so if its in black and white and easy to follow I could just pull out the relevant instruction sheet and go from there .I even tried adding sounds and pics with instructions from the net but that was a balls up as well . Maybe I need to find that manual and have another look see at it . I know alot of people like open tx but that just doesnt agree with me like a bad Indian curry . Thanks for your reply

Hmm, maybe we should start up a FROS section here and you can ask for some help there. (It has been suggested we have OpenTX and FrOS sections independent of one another. Starting to sound like a darn good idea.)

I'm no expert with FrOS as I am more of an OpenTX love child. (Yes, I know it is not right for everyone, not going to suggest you switch over.)

I wish I could get my head around open tx but I think in my case its a lost cause . The white flag is up .What I do figure out is gone the next time I need it . Is there anything like Frsky Fros for dummies in the works ? Might be a top 10 best seller in the book department . For interests sake why would there be a manual for other Tx;s and not the hourus 12 ? Cheers

I think there is an X12S manual from FrSky..? Not 100% sure on that. The X10 manual would be VERY similar. The X12 has a few additional features, but not many. If you are asking about the OpenTX manual, we simply did not see enough sales of that radio to invest the time and effort on the manual knowing that the X10 and X7 sold wildly better, so we did those manuals first.

There Is more interesting stuff coming.. :)

Yea, me too. So many pieces of terminology that I do not understand. I was one of the first to get a Taranis, but have not managed to get it up and running. Have tried a couple of times to get a receiver to bind to the Tx, but no luck.
Yes life also got in the way, what with a divorce, selling a house, packing up and moving, building a garage to mention a few reasons why I have not spent a lot of time at it. Would be nice to have a manual with step by step basics for getting it up and running. I am actually hoping to do some flying this summer. Here in Northern Alberta it is still too cold with too much snow to even think about flying.
Anybody out there able to help a dummy newbie like me.

Hi there Ridge , u cant rely on me for help but I feel your pain for sure . Not being mean but Im glad im not the only one , I was starting to feel special but not in a good way . Cheers

Hi Pope, do you live in the Vatican? Lol.
So can you lay it out for me ? What do I have to do to get my Taranis up and operational so that I can fly?

Yes my son I do !

As for the taranis I think u should ask others as its not really my strong point . All I have on the taranis now is 2 quads and if I needed to add anything more it would be like trying to reinvent the wheel all over again . My best advice would be to go to rcgroups as they have a couple of big threads on this and also utube with scott page and a few others being very helpful . If I gave u advice it could be wrong and the last thing u need is to be confused even more by someone pretending they know what there doing . Sorry but I think that would be your best bet . Cheers

Not wanting to sound like a sales pitch, but this has helped out a lot of folks:

Very well written, helps people understand the logic the radio uses. Once this clicks, the radio is pretty easy to use. I will admit that some folks simply do not think in this fashion, and OpenTX is not going to be a good fit for them. With that said, this manual is VERY well organized and well thought out.

I hate to say it, but my advise is to stay away from the Youtube videos. They jump from subject to subject. Some are getting pretty out of date, etc. Very few of them really offer the basic steps folks need at the start. Basically just adds to the confusion.

The hardest students are the folks that have been using menu radios a lot. They have a hard time giving up their old ways and accepting the new ways.

Once it all clicks it is probably easier and faster to setup a new plane in OpenTX than in a menu driven radio, especially as the planes are more complex with flaps and airbrakes, etc.

I despise setting up a model through the radio. The open tx companion software makes life so much eaiser. You can see and test stuff right there on the screen. Copy and paste from radio to radio or model to model. i have done so many complex models. i have them saved on the computer and backed up. i set most of my friends copters. it takes like 3min. opentx university is where i learned most of it. also script in lua. as convoluted as it is for a scripting language im able to do what i want. Still learning though...

FrSky has put an renewed effort into updating the FrOS manual and they have started with the X10S/X10 here https://www.frsky-rc.com/x10s/ The X10S manual can also be used for the X12S but is missing a few functions for that. Hopefully the X12S manual will get updated as well.
