Most of us would point you to the reference material you already have.
Is your Horus running OpenTX or FrSky OS (FOS)? If you are wanting to change from FOS (A good idea) to OpenTX Aloft offers this service.

Pardon me - did not intend to get anybody riled up. I have been using Open TX 2.2.1 on my Taranis X9D and also on the Horus X10 for sometime. About a moth or so ago a AT&T tech in the process of diagnosing low internet speeds locked up my PC (Win 10) causing Win 10 had to be re-installed. I am now just getting back to installing OTX and checking out the models on my TX.
Horus X10/X10S User manual, page 49 tells one how to enter OTX Bootloader mode. I followed the instructions but the HORUS BOOTLOADER screen as shown in the manual did not pop up.
So, do I need to re-install the STM-32 Bootloader driver again?

On Horus you only need the bootloader if you are installing a new version of opentx on to the radio. If you are setting up a models and want to use opentx companion simple turn your X10 on plug in the USB cable and as long as you have installed Zadig (The USB driver) You will be able to create up load and down load model setup. You will as be able to access the SD card this way.

I've got the same problem. Running opentx , version 2.2.1. Following instructions in Horus maual. No bootloader screen comes up, just the model. From what I understand there is no bootloader in 2.2.1. This comes about as I am trying to work with a frsky neuron esc via the video.
To start the boot loader when using the Horus radio the boot loader needs to be started before plugging the USB cable in as shown in the FRsky video. The simplest way to flash the Horus radio with the same version boot loader as the firmware you are upgrading to is perform the Horus flashing with the radio turned off, powered down. Once you flash the radio this way using companion it also flashes the new firmware and boot loader at the same time.

No, you must not use Zadig for that. Zadig is ONLY for power off firmware flashing and nothing else, wish people would stop spreading that as it's several more unneeded steps to fix things if you use Zadig when on.

I can confirm this much. As a developer, both on Linux and Windows, especially windows 10. The standard out of the box drivers are not either automatically applied correctly or depending on which version of windows, like Home, Pro, ETC the drivers are incompatible and need to be installed or changed. Most of the OPENTX issues are at the usb level. Meaning depending on build the usb 3.0 drivers really mess with things. The fastest way to fix this and have no issues is to use ImpulseRC Driver Fixer. One click fixes the issues. Also make sure in compa ion under the communication panel that your directory for dfu-util.exe is set on the correct directory of C:/Program Files (x86)/OpenTX/dfu-util.exe.
If you managed to change the alternate device command just make sure it's set to -a 0.

Again that is only about DFU, and with radio power off.
Accessing SD is done powered on via standard mass storage and you MUST NOT use Zadig or driver fixer in that state or you'll replace the perfectly good mass storage driver with the unrelated dfu driver and nothing will work.

Maybe unrelated, but on all of the videos I have seen about flashing OpenTX onto the Horus 10S, the GREEN power light illuminates when they plug in the USB cable with the Transmitter initially with the POWER OFF. The green light does not illuminate when I plug in the USB cable. Does that mean I have a bad cable that cannot be used for data transfer?
