Release Candidates are released for testing and feedback before the full release.
Before starting a firmware update backup the model.bin files and radio.bin file. ETHOS does model conversion from older releases to newer release but not from new to old. The backup files are needed to return to older builds. Note For the 1.2.0. RC0 the model files between 1.1.4. and 1.2.0. should be compatible both directions.
After updating to Release 1.2.XX check the model programming to make sure everything functions correctly before flying.

Installing The ETHOS SUITE PC Application
Download the ETHOS SUITE Windows application setup and run its install program.

Note: 03-30-22 There is a server issue because it is not finding firmware or contents. This is being fixed.
Installing The 1.2.0. Bootloader
The ETHOS SUITE requires a new Tandem or Horus radio bootloader (release 1.2.0.) for connecting the radio to a Windows PC and SUITE communications. The 1.2.0. bootloader.frsk file is include with the 1.2.0. RC0 released and needs to be flashed to use the ETHOS SUITE PC App. The bootloader is compatible with 1.2.0. RC0 and 1.1.4.
1. After installing ETHOS release 1.2.0. RC0. Locate the Tandem or Horus ETHOS SUITE bootloader.frsk file in the download.
2. Power the radio on in bootloader mode (hold the enter key down, keep it down and then press power ON) and connect the system to the Windows PC with a data USB cable.
3. Using the Windows File Explorer copy the bootloader.frsk to the radio SD card. I like to keep my files in a SD folder named Firmware. The bootloader.frsk is in the radio firmware zip from GitHub.
4. Eject the USB connections and disconnect the USB cable.
5. Turn the radio OFF and back ON.
6. Using the radio ETHOS File Manager navigate to the bootloader.frsk file, click on it and select Flash Bootloader. The bootloader flashes with a progress bar. Click OK at end.
7. Trun radio off and start in bootloader mode.
8. With ETHOS SUITE running on the PC connect the radio to the PC with a data USB cable.
9. Windows File Explore windows populate and the connected radio appears in the ETHOS SUITE app.
Flashing X20 ETHOS Firmware Updates
1. While holding Enter down press power on.
2. System displays "Bootloader".
3. Connect system to Windows PC using data USB C cable.
4. System displays "USB Plugged" and two File Explorer drive windows open on PC
5. Copy the ETHOS firmware.bin file to the SD card root. Name must be firmware.bin.
6. Eject both drives.
7. Disconnect USB cable.
8. System displays flash progress bar.
9. When flash complete power system OFF and then ON.

Without using USB connection
1. Remove SD card and copy firmware to the SD card root. Name must be firmware.bin. Install SD card.
2. While holding Enter down press power on.
3. System flashes firmware update.
4. Power system OFF then ON
