Help with mixing on 2.3.14

Hello to all . Any help appreciated , I'm kinda new to Taranis x9d+ because I had various problems getting it to work ,,,range issues and programing a full house glider . It sat on the self a long time .Well I finally got it out and and trying getting it set up for season this year . Was able to get it updated and close to set up for 2 gliders, a flying wing and coming soon a 3D foamie for fun .
My question on the mix page is that I want to mix rudder with ailerons . Just a simple 100 % mix for coordinated turns . On old firmware shown from some guys on you tube seems different in the new firmware .
Sorry I need step by step how to pick and mix . I just know how to get to page with channels listed there .
One other thing was how to get to radio set up page . My manual says long press menu key when on any of 3 main views ,,It seem to always got to Tools page . On my page 1 crossfire not spectrum int. ?
Would like to set volumes on voice commands . and beeps for vario . Just can't seem to get to Radio set up page . Any help there would b great .

Long-press gets to the "system" area, the Tools page is just one of several. Click on the "page" button to cycle through them all.
To add a aileron to rudder mix, hit menu to get to the model menu, click the page button until you get to the Mixes page, scroll down to the Rud line and long-press the enter key. From the menu, choose "insert after". You should at this point be editing the new item. Scroll to Source and change that to Ail and you are done.

gnichola's answer will mix moving the aileron stick to make the rudder move. If you want the opposite (move the rudder stick to make the ailerons move) then instead add the line as a second on the aileron channel, with rudder as the source.

Note there can be what appear (at first glance) to be duplicates for sources. As an example, there is the "Rud", which is the stick itself with no modification. The second comes from the Inputs page, which is a modified version - listed as something like "i4:Rud". ie - the item listed on the inputs, line 4, named Rud. The input is where you would modify for reduced rates, expo, etc. Easy to pick the wrong source for mixing, and then get frustrated because it seems like your rates/expo etc. don't work.

Also, when mixing (we'll use ail to rud as the example), with both weights at 100, the results from the sources add together. So moving both the aileron stick and the rudder stick the full way would give 100+100 or 200. It would attempt to move the rudder twice as far as normal full throw. The safety is that your outputs normally only allow 100. The effect is after moving both sticks half way over (50+50), there is no more rudder movement and the sticks seem "dead" for the rest of their travel. No issue if you are only ever going to move just one of the sticks. And if you don't care about the possible "dead" feeling, again no harm. Or some playing with weights for the Inputs or Mixer might be needed to never exceed a total of 100 if it does bug you.

And if you want to get fancy, there is a Special Function that allows you to designate a source as an overall volume control - I almost always have my S2 set for that.

The reason to have the three options, Input, Mix and output menus is as follows.
Input. can be used to pre-condition a stick to have say Expo or dual rates before you go into the mix menu. If you intend to pre-condition say Rud via the input menu you need to select "i4:rud as the source on the mix page. The "i" indicates the Rud signal is coming from the input stage.

So in general.
Input menu can be used for Expo and dual rates.
Mix menu is used to perform mixes between channels.
Output menu is used to set servo travel limits, servo reverse and sub trims.

Long pressing the menu key gets you into the radio setup page. IE time of day, etc etc. The tools page is a special set of setups generally used for configuring other accessories, and not really for model setup.

I think what you were asking is how to get to the model setup page. This is achieved by short pressing the menu key and using the page forward (short press) or page backwards (Long press) to get to the appropriate model setup page.

Henny When I long press my menu key it goes to a page that Tools page as it says on the top of it then has list of 8 things 1 crossfire 2 frsky gasuite 3 ,4,5 frsky stuff . Can't find any page that says radio set up ,,just model setup n a few other things . I have know idea whats in the tools page or if I even want to go there ! lua scrips over my head ..
I would like to set a few things that seems only to be in that radio page . Volume on beeps for vario .So when its noisy at the field I can turn up or down when needed and other settings there like maybe battery calb. if I upgrade . Just seem strange that it seems to be missing on my radio Unless I'm missing something ! Have a good one rct

Long pressing the menu key gets you into the Radio set with the Tools page being the first of 7 pages. So once you have long pressed the menu key use the page button to advance to the remaining radio setup pages.

The best way to adjust radio volume is to assign it to a slider or knob using the Global function page in the radio setup menu. 3rd page after the tools page. So GF1 will be next column "ON" next column "Volume" then select the slider or knob I use RS being the right slider and tick the box in the last column.

So many cool things in OpenTX. Henny's point about setting the volume in the Global function page makes that control active for every model, so you don't haver to set it up each time. But if you want to do it per model, than you can by doing it over in the Special Functions page for just that model. Unfortunately it is either for all, or by each. No way to say "do it for all, except this one where I want to use Rs for something else:,

Hello again ..Its been a slow process as I have to many projects going on . WELL SUCCESS ! . With all your help was able to get mixing done on one of the sailplanes ,all set up n ready to go !
Now getting ready to set up full house glider with new receiver,the grx6 .I have flaps on one channel so 6 channel enough .
Thanks to and a SHOUT out to Andrew Newton on u tube for showing his full glider set up,, AND many other help full vids . I was able to get it on my radio last year and flew.
Well I have been changing around receivers and trying to use a new one in the top model peg . Using the G-RX6 I just bought from aloft and of course I can't get it to bind ! Tried everything I can of . Double checked all the settings and protocol . Went online too to see what I could find too .....

Q Can I use n bind a new receiver on a existing model that set up in radio .. Bind a new receiver to it without renaming the model ? And if I do will it keep all the parameters ? Or how to keep all the settings ? Thanks to all Btw I'm using taranis x9d +

Yes of course you can replace a receiver with a newer receiver. Just go thru the register and bind process again. Won't affect any settings however you will need to rediscover new sensor for telemetry.

Thanks I kinda thought that was the way it was . I just wanted to be sure before I send receiver back . Sucks to wait a week or two to get a chance to work on .
Nice weather coming soon in the Ohio area . Looking forward to using the vario for the first time .
