Really hoping you guys can help. I've been banging my head against this all day.
I'm looking to add a custom sound set to my build of a model submarine, in this case the Red October from the movie of the same name. Radio in question is the X14 Twin. Firmware version: 1.6.3 FCC Bootloader version: 1.4.16 RF Module version: 3.0.0
I have created audio files in the correct format specified. These files were then uploaded to the main audio directory (F:/audio) on the radio using the transcoder application in Ethos Suite. These files are viewable and playable from the File Manager on the radio. When I try to associate the sound with the switch, the sound files are not displayed in the list of audio files, only the stock sound files that are preloaded on the radio.
Actions taken thus far:
1. Originally the radio was running off the original 1.4x version firmware and the issue persisted. Thinking it was a potential firmware problem, I upgraded to the latest version. No help.
2. All files were renamed in lower case with less than 8 characters with no special characters. No help.
3. I tried moving the files into the F:/audio/en directory. No help
4. I rebooted the unit a couple of times and did a full power cycle by disconnecting the battery. No help.
5. I tried putting the files onto an SD card and switching the audio source in the General Settings to SD card for audio. No help.
6. I had ChatGPT generate a small test file in the correct format and uploading that to both the audio and audio/en directories to see if the files were the issue. That file did not show up either.
7. I tried moving the files to audio/en/us with the same results.
So.. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, but I'll be darned if I know what it is. If any of you have insights or suggestions, I'm all ears.
