G_RX8 setup

New G-RX8 receiver is looking good so far. Some instructions are not clear enough for me. I am using analog servos with this receiver and I understand that I must insure receiver is operating in the PWM mode. I bound the receiver to my Taranis plus radio with a jumper on ch 1 & 2 signal terminal. With the binding process complete, jumper removed, and recycle on and off several times the diode lights on the receiver are both green and blue. Instructions indicate that the blue diode is telling me I am in the SBUS mode. A quick check indicates that all servos are working OK and not heating up, although I did not persist for long until I get this matter cleared up. So.... am I ok with green and blue lights on with analog servos? How can I be sure I am in PWM mode. Thanks for any help on this.

In both modes the Receiver outputs PWM on Ch1 through Ch4 these are a bit fast for some analog servos (0.5 milli seconds).
In PWM mode the pins Ch-5 through Ch-8 are "Ordinary precision" (safe for all analog servos).

In S-Bus mode output Pins Ch-1 through Ch-6 are "High Precision" PWM. Ch 8 has the only pins that are outputing S-Bus. And Ch7 is dead.

S-bus is used to activate the redundant RX feature. In PWM mode this redundant RX feature is lost.

To your concern unless you have a servo plugged into output pins Ch8 your servos are NOT seeing S-Bus code in ether mode

If using this RX I would use digital servos. Most modern analog servos will work but I wouldn't guaranty it.

All the best,
Konrad

Edit: Add "Ch 8 has the only pins that are outputing S-Bus. And Ch7 is dead."

Thanks for your reply Konrad. I am still wondering which mode my receiver is operating in.
Followed instructions to put receiver in PWM mode ie bound with jumper on signal pins 1 and 2.
Operating with both green and blue diodes on does that mean i'm still in SBUS mode?

Yes, you appear to still be in S-bus mode (Pins 1 through Pins 6 PWM, Pins 7 dead, Pins 8 are "S-Bus out" and "S-Bus In" is active)

I just did some bind tests with the latest production run G-RX8 (paper case). If your finger slides off the F/S button while powering up it won't bind in PWM (actually the bind won't change, default is S-Bus). Make sure the F/S button stays pressed while powering up during the PWM bind process (jumpers across signal pins 1 and 3).

In PWM mode I have only the green LED lit when bond and telemetry on.
In S-Bus mode I have both the green (weak) and Blue LEDS on Again with telemetry on

Again this has noting to do with being safe for analog vs digital servos.

My pleasure. I too learned a thing or two about this rx.
Is the rx stuck in S-Bus mode? Or have you been able to get her into PWM mode?
