I'm a new Wing Helper user and was wondering if Wing Helper 1.7 can be used to make fuselage formers now or if this function will be in a future version.

No. The current WingHelper version (1.7.1) does not support fuselage creation, but it is listed as a possible future enhancement. You can download the current version and try it in demo mode to see what is supported.
